Watching paid bloggers try to build these and validate how they like it to stay in nintendos good graces has been painful to watch lol

I have spent over 5hrs building this thing, and my 6yr old played like 45mins at most. This build was worst than building a big Ikea closet set.

This thing is so much fun! Combining model crafts with video games is just sweet. Building the things is fun like a model or Lego set, and then it comes to life and I think that's super cool.

There's also a neat little "programming language" (it's all touch-screen drag-and-drop based) that you can use to build your own things outside of the cardboard kits. I haven't played much with it yet but I'm pretty stoked for the idea of kids learning programming with real-world interactions.

I think this thing's very cool, especially if you're into crafts and games and computers and all that.

you didn't hire a Day Laborer from outside of Home Depot to build it for you?

The ones I've built so far take between 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Totally worth it though - I enjoyed how well thought out the entire process was, and my kiddo has been getting a lot of playtime out of them. Smilie

As someone who loved the Wii U, your comment is still heart-rendingly hilarious.

It seems alot of the reviewers completely missed the point that building it is not a chore, but half (or more) of the fun of it. Its like a Lego set.

It doesn't. I watched Giant Bomb do casually in about two hours.

My son is 13 and LOVES this. He bought it with his own money and has put the piano and fishing pole together so far. It did not take him longer than three hours for the piano.

Good if you have kids. Stupid if you're an adult.
