I thought so, too, been using Tiffen on most of my lenses. Until I read a reviews on the filters and tried the Hoya HMC (around $15-20). Oh boy, you couldn't even tell the glass is there:

Needless to say, gradually switched all of my filters to Hoya HMC.

Iconian, do you have a deal on the 52mm in a different color such as red?

Does the color of the filters mean anything or its just cosmetics ?

The color is purely cosmetic.... just helps with quickly identifying which filters go to which lens (that is, if you get different colors for each size).

Adorama seems to have different colors/sizes on sale each week... just such search "mefoto" here on slickdeals and click the links from the previous posts... the sale price only seems to work through the provided link, the price is much more if you just search it on the adorama website.

I personally love MeFOTO's tripods, but does anyone have experience with these filters? (i.e. compared to B+W or Zeiss)

I have a CP filter from them and it's pretty good quality, just as good as any filter that is in the under $50 price range I would say.

The clearer is Hoya, the green-ish/darker is Tiffen.

If you couldn't tell that they're different, calibrate your monitor (or at least run it through the Lagom LCD Test [lagom.nl])

If you still couldn't see the difference with a calibrated monitor, see your eye doctor :-)
