As a friendly reminder, if you're considering an ecobee or other smart thermostat, you should see if there are any rebates offered in your area. I was able to get $125 worth of rebates.

What about for all of us who don't live in Illinois and have Comed service?

I switched from a Nest 2nd gen to an Ecobee3. Nest 3rd gen and Nest E have the capability to add sensors but cost extra. Previous Nests are not compatible with sensors. Sensors are useful when you want your temp tied to particular room(s), which I find particularly useful. I like the touchscreen on the Ecobee and the advanced data that you get with the Ecobee. The Nest has a learning feature which I didn't find particularly useful. On my Ecobee, I set a particular schedule and the sensors are used to override if it senses that you are actually home or away.

Both Nest and Ecobee tie in with Amazon Alexa but only Ecobee is compatible with Apple HomeKit.

Any benefit over the nest? Matter of personal preference?

It's only offering 17.40 back in points after applying coupon. Am I missing something?

Wow! This is a good deal. I paid almost the same price for ecobee3 with 3 sensors last January. I wouldn't mind getting extra sensors for other rooms as well. The sensor is the main reason why I got this over Nest.

I don't like the Alexa feature on mine. The voice glitches.

Nest is a little more automatic, but ecobee has the remote sensor so you can go off of temperature in more than one room/location and has Alexa built in. So somewhat preference.
