iPhone 8 256gb from Xfinity Mobile $700 + $200 Visa GC =$700

Xfinity mobile has multiple promotions running currently where you get a $200 visa giftcard after 90 days of service with a new line (this thread has more details on requirements).

They also have a current promotion where the 256gb iPhone 8 in Gold, Silver, or Space Gray is only $700 ($150 off MSRP). When opening a new line, you will receive a $200 giftcard as well, making it $500 net. You will need to port in a number to get the giftcard, but there are creative ways to do that cheaply. You can get the phone unlocked once it is paid off. If you do not have Xfinity internet or TV, then there is a $10 per month fee on the service. Choose the $12 pay by GB plan that xfinity mobile offers and if you use less than 100mb per month, you only pay taxes (variable based on location, mine in SF Bay Area is only $1.50)

$700 iPhone 8 256gb
~$5 Xfinity Phone Service
-$200 Visa Giftcard
~$505 for Unlocked iPhone 8 256gb (Tax dependent on State & County, but no line activation fee)

The iPhone 8 Plus 256gb is available too for +$100

You can get a freedompop sim for $.99 and use that number to port in. You could also choose to get the cheapest Red Pocket service for the number to port in.

For the gift card, Can I use it to pay for internet service fee, or it only can pay for xifinity mobile service fee?

Unlocked a couple of LG X Charge yesterday, before it used to be very easy. They will unlock your phone even if it was not paid off. But now it is like stealing gold from Fort Knox. 1st pay off your device. Then call customer service rep to get an "unlock ticket number". Then you have to email xfinitymobile_unlocks@comcast.com.

Provide your

Subject: Xfinity Mobile device unlock request
ticket #
Name on account
Account number
Service address
Last paid Xfinity Mobile bill amount
Last 4 digits of credit card used on Xfinity Mobile account
Are the device(s) paid off? (Y/N)
Mobile phone number
IMEI(s) requesting to be unlocked
Reason

AND I AM NOT KIDDING!

Then if everything is right and verified you will get an email (got mine within 24 hours) with your unlock code.

Give card is same as cash /debit card, so you can use it to pay for anything.

Wow! Thanks for the info. Did you have to wait till the first bill to pay off?

I waited a couple of months, until I got my prepaid card for the phones. I swapped my credit card with my prepaid card as my card on file so I was paying it with their prepaid card. But I'm sure you can pay it off anytime.

buy an iPhone for up to $350($150 on phone plus $200 gift card) off but wait for at least 3 months to get it unlocked and actually use the phone....is that what the deal is?

If you actually use the phone on Xfinity, you will pay $12/GB+taxes that adds additional costs which eats into your discount on the phone....

Also, imo i dont think the 256GB model is worth the additional $150 to begin with...

Would be cool if I could use the GC to pay on the amount of the phone. Been curious on going back to iOS to changes things up a bit, I just can't justify the cost.

For you it might not be, but this is such a subjective statement I dont even know why it would be said. For me, I have a 64GB phone and have only used 27GB. My wife, on the other hand, has the 128GB and it is full because she takes a lot of pictures/videos of the kids. So for her, the 256GB would be worth it. For me, it wouldn't.

And while there are ways to store your photos/documents on the cloud (I have dropbox and onedrive), they are not that practical, especially if you want to search for photos through the app. It takes forever for them to load. Its not like adding an external HD to your laptop.
