Not sure if it would work but could try to price match it to Costco at 99.99, add small filler, use $20 off coupon, and use 10-15% off coupon to make this a pretty good deal.

Sadly I am in the market for impact to help with lug nuts so still trying to decide which brand series to go with to upgrade my entire toolset to and not ready to jump or porter considering my needs might be handled by lower quality honestly.

the impact is weak and will detroy it's own planetary gears over a short period of time

take my experience and go with ridgid or milwaukee

happy drilling

The Milwaukee 1500 lb torque vs this 1400 lb torque
... hardly call it weak and MUCH less expensive the rigid is 2k lb and is a beast though. Overkill for all but the most intense users.

The Costco kit only has one battery so for $10 more I feel like the extra battery (plus 10% vet discount)makes this the better kit.
Subtotal $109.45
Military Discount -$10.95

Grab a $20 off $100 purchase discount code from Google and it comes out to $98. Not sure if it will stack with the military discount.

I researched a long time on a 2 tool combo set for light duty work. I still can't decide which way to go, but for the price, it seems hard to beat. If I need higher quality tools to complete my average tasks later on, I will have this set as a spare. For less than $100, worth a shot.

I've got these two drill/drivers and they both work for me really well. I don't use them daily but I do use them weekly; couple of hours each weekend. I really like the impact driver and it seems plenty strong to me. I run the 3" wood screws for probably two hours on a battery; maybe a bit more.

I recommend these and I think you'l be happy with them. If I was doing work as a pro I might look at something else but as a homeowner/casual builder they work well for me.

You can't just rely on specs. Milwaukee always outperforms theirs, Ridgid underperforms. Check out head to head videos on YouTube.

And Porter Cable is garbage.

How is this set compared to Ryobi? I plan to buy one for my brother to use at home.
How strong is the battery (2amp or 4amp)?
TIA

At Lowe's, overall rating of 4.5 / 5 stars, with an 88% recommendation rate.

Newest review (as of a few days ago):
Great value for this Porter Cable drill set. Comes with two (2) long lasting and powerful batteries and a fast charger. My company has used all kinds of Porter Cable cordless tools without fail. Great overall products.

Get yourself a Lowe's promo code (Google it!) or a military discount or a mover's coupon for additional savings = super slick deal.

I used the PorterCable impact driver for a day working on horse stables and was very impressed with power, compactness, speed, and ergonomics. I had never used an impact driver before so it chipped a couple of bit tips.

I later looked for a deal to get my own impact driver and a Dewalt one came up at Lowes. Which I got in on, but i was later to discover that there are 2 grades of brushless impact drivers and mistakenly got the lower grade.

Now I have gotten in on the Milwaukee M18 weedwacker.

So whatever a person decides. Research it better than I did. And see which battery system works best and not have a hodgepodge of 5 different battery systems PC, Dewalt, Milwaukee, BD, Ryobi.

I am now in the market for a Milwaukee Fuel M18 SawZall.

I just recently made the switch to Milwaukee and have been really happy with it. They make an impact that works really well on lugs

I used a 2 amp on this and it was powerful. My only comparison of using different amp battery packs is on milwaukee fuel M18 2A, 5A, 9A batteries. It seems like it is only longer run time not power between batteries. I prefer 2 amp on impact driver due to small size and ease of handling all day.
