Because the GTX 1060 (even the 3GB model) is about 25-35% faster than the 570. Source:

GTX 1060 3GB (8,900 benchmark)
RX 570 (6,775)

As far as gaming goes, they're basically even on DX 12, but the GTX 1060 roasts it on DX 11:

absolutely agree. I had 6 of these and 6 of the SC versions and there was a MAJOR difference in the heatsink quality between the two. I also had some 1050ti from EVGA and the heatsink on this base model 1060 is the SAME as the 1050ti heatsink!

The SC versions ran 15C cooler, no joke.

You wouldn't think there would be a big difference besides the small bump in clock speed but in this case the SC card is much superior.

For reference, EVGA SC 1060 version mines ETH at around 15 stock, 17-18 O/C'd. Some with better memory runs 17 stock and 20-21 O/C'd

I've also noticed that 3GB run faster than 6GB version of the SC version.

Stay away from the non SC cards. They just run hot, but have similar speed. Maybe if you live somewhere cold, these will have a good benefit.

Same here...waiting to pay $240 (MSRP) for the 6GB....why the price is always higher than MSRP...
*UPDATE* My bad...the MSRP for the 6GB is 300. 240 is the MSRP for 3GB.

My reasons are more of a long term investment. Once I'm done with a video card after a few years, i keep it around for emergencies if my current one burns out, like the cheap low quality saphhire brand radeon R7 370 that i had. it died and refused to let my system POST. i had an old radon 4860 1GB lying around but there were no drivers to be found. windows 10 refused to load anything but generic drivers at max 640x480 rez that had it running at 100% load constantly while being as silent as a jet engine. after a quick search, I found out that AMD has a much higher rate of refusing to create basic 2D drivers for older cards for Windows 10. Luckily, I had an even older Asus 512MB Geforce 9600GSO that Windows 10 had no problems installing proper 2D drivers for. For this purpose alone, I am going for team green! There's just less headache and better support.
