Fake Deals - watchout all.

I received an email asking me to fake post on SD and I was offered $10 per post.

Im not a huge poster and I've benifeted from you guys more than you have from me, but I have posted a few deals in all my years here.

IMO, emails like the below will be the death of Slickdeals if it continues.

Move if you must, but I believe this should say in the hot deals sub forum.

Here is the email.

From Dan:
Hi,we are looking for deal poster on Slickdeals,if you're interested in that,we can give you $10 as reward after you post each deal.Hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,

Dan

My reply:
Can I get more details please?

Dan's reply:
Sorry to reply so late,we have different brands(we sell headphone, backpack, phone cases and others).

We need to post some deals on sd,i can pay you $10 for each post via paypal account if you can do it.

In addition,we also need to do some upvotes on some deals,i can pay you $3 for each upvote, how about it?Hope to hear from you soon.

If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

This will be the death of amazon too. I think that sponsored reviews should be kept separate from traditional purchases.

Yep, I think it is time to move all of those sponsored deals to a sub-forum.

Unfortunately these are commonplace now. More places need to promote their product and as opposed to grinding it out they fabricate these things I have gotten emails like these for the past 2 years or so. It very much violates the terms of service on slickdeals, and more so is pretty easy to spot when people post those deals, since they aren't really deals, or because they have a random Amazon Coupon code that is not on the main page. Among other tells. Hopefully people stay strong, 10 a post and 3 an up vote is the best I've seen if you don't factor in the value of free products they will send you.

Keep slick deals slick people.

They're doing this because Amazon is purging reviewers daily for doing fake reviews. I've seen a lot of so called deals posted here that are on review sites. The more desperate they get the more Slickdeals will be bombarded with fake deals.

Happens all the time. Sort HD by newest threads in the morning and you'll see over half the deals posted are for third party Amazon sellers using special coupon codes. These are the types of threads you'll be asked to make and vote on.

It's gotten so bad, I set a custom filter to exclude all Amazon threads from what I see when I visit HD.

This is not the first I've heard of this. Contacting mod doesn't seem to work... Or am I way out of line here?

No, your post really triggered a good awareness among our community. Thank you for post, and I am personally fed up with all those sponsored craps putting up on SD lately.

Why don't they just post themselves? What's to be gained by having a more reputable poster post the deal?
