Not as slick as the recent expired promo that came with four 5.0 ah batteries. But $400 is still good for this.

RECENTLY EXPIRED PROMO.

Agreed. After returning the additional batteries for 129, I've less than $300 into this saw. Having used this saw a lot lately, I can say hands down this is the best miter saw I have ever owned. It is an amazing Beast.

I just picked up this miter saw during lunch at my local Home depot in Norfolk for this same price on clearance new in box. I came on slickdeals to see if there were any applicable X2 promo's going on currently (such as the free batteries). Still a hell of a deal since I don't need the two batteries or charger and can sell off my old Makita 24v Miter

This is the best 10" miter saw on the market. Yes, even better than the kapex

The Makita display in Atlanta still shows the promo where they give you the free batteries. If your store still has that promo listed on their display, I would hold their feet to the fire and make them honor it. You could always threaten them with a false advertising lawsuit.

running a miter saw with 18v batteries seems kind of nuts to me, unless you are cutting quarter round floor molding. And to replace the 2 batteries after a couple of years will cost you $260. WOW. I have never seen Makita batteries on sale other than when they are discontinued.

What's nuts is paying $260 for two makita batteries. If that's the best you can do, then your bargain hunting skills need a lot of work.

Fortunately, no one cares what you "think." We are more concerned with actual real world performance.

Stick with your corded Chicago electric. I'm sure it's a beast.
