I bought one of these at this price about a month ago, and I couldn't be happier.

I have about an 1850 sq ft ranch, but I close off the bedrooms before running it because it'll choke to death on the stuff on my kids' floors. So it covers my kitchen, family room, living room, dining room, hallways. Tile floor in the kitchen/dining room, low-pile carpet everywhere else.

It cleans in a "random" pattern, but the coverage is very solid. I might not get every piece of dirt every time... but I run mine 3x/week, and my floors are definitely cleaner than they were before.

I've got a ton of obstacles, and it navigates them way better than expected. Even my dining room table, with 6 chairs around it... it has found its way UNDER the table, and then figured out how to navigate all the chair legs to get out. It does fantastic.

I cannot recommend this enough.

Does this work well on low carpet? Any feedback?

Wire cutter rates this is their pick for robotic vacuums. I have no experience with robot cleaners, but Alexa/Wifi is important to me. I can't imagine having this on a schedule and always getting interrupted while on a phone call or watching tv with a loud vacuum.

Seems like if it's app/Alexa enabled, its more practical to just initiate it on my way out the door rather then always relying on a schedule or having to walk over and press a button.

Just got the N79 version about 2 weeks ago and it's been great. Only difference between the S and the non S version is Alexa I think. With the app you can start as you leave the house, or just set schedule for days of the week you are out of the house. Noise level is high enough that it'll bother you so you probably don't want to be in the house when it's on.

Can you speak to how effective it is in terms of navigating and covering your area well? I know it doesn't have mapping features.

Maybe just high level, like how much square footage (approx) the area you have it cleaning, obstacles/furniture/wires, etc..

I'm a little concerned about it getting stuck or not covering the area well since it doesnt have mapping, but at 179, i think i'd be happy with it as long as it doesn't constantly get stuck.

That's interesting. Could you elaborate on the "3 differrent rooms" comment? I can see that you can set it to "1 room", although I'm not quite sure how the N79 determines if it's in the same room or not since it doesn't have mapping.

When you say 3 different rooms, does that mean you have 1 unit to clean 3 specific rooms only and avoid all other spaces?

BTW, for 180, I figured I'd try it out. Doesn't seem to get much better for a well reviewed unit at this price.

Just ordered a Neato D80, about same price, any thoughts on better model?

Edit: NM, I just saw this was Fakespot C, I was wondering why it had so many reviews after just being released in March.

Neato is certainly better in terms of coverage, it has a systematic way of mapping the floor area to clean and then follow a pattern for maximum coverage of that floor area. Most of my home is carpet, barring the kitchen which is wooden and the bathrooms which are tiles
The only downside are the older batteries, if you got the lithium ion ones you won't be facing any battery issues.
This solely based on my personal use over the last 2 years.
