Anyone know or believe if Apple would bring the laminated display back at this price point with future iPad models ?
I doubt it. Apple would have not terminated iPad Air series or created new Pro lineup if they intended to bring any premium features to regular iPads. Display was downgraded from Air series only to utilize their leftover stocks of regular displays.

Is the 2018 model even worth the price compared to the 2017 version ?

Support for Apple Pen in 2018 model would lead me to believe yes.

Who in the bloody hell still buys these? Seriously, f$~k me running. I'm sorry, but if you have a cell phone with a touch screen, which let's face it, unless you have a Gitterbug, you have a touch screen phone, what is the justification /rationalization in buying a tablet anymore?
Going to take a wild guess, but maybe if you need a bigger screen?

So which one is best to use for drone work as a second screen. Or for filmmaking for tools and second screens? It seems DJIs software is better built for Apple and I have been an all Android guy since the G1. Also there are apps and tools like light meters and stuff for these things and I would love to get one (if I have to) that will work for them both and be somewhat futureproofed. Thanks for any advice.
