When a reel is advertised for salt water, it means that it will not get damaged by the salt. Of course you can also use it in fresh water.

Another sponsored KrapKing deal - pass.

Watch out for sales for Penn, Daiwa or Shimano spinning gear that's actually made to fish in saltwater and not entirely comprised (save for one gear) of plastic.

Good review here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FJtGiDNaPI

I use their braid on a couple of my reel without any major problems yet. Just a little dye bleeding at first.

I got a cheaper one, not this model and was surprised at how smooth it felt but it didn't last very long. Also the advertised 11 or 12 bearings was total bs.

This seems like it might be a good deal as it's a higher level reel than most of the Chinese private label stuff but personally if I'm spending 50ish on an egg beater I'd just spend 30 or so more for a daiwa BG

Anyone have recommendations for a versatile entry level rod/reel for primarily bass/trout?

Entry level? Abu Garcia Silver max Baitcaster that was selling for $75 earlier this year, maybe even a Black max reel/rod combo for $50 if you want to go cheaper but the rods that come with it are not great, the reels are good for entry-level beginner to learn baitcasters on though.

I do not know why people push these reels so much unless they have an interest. Save your money and buy a trusted brand. This Chinese crap is just that.... Crap!
