Will I be able to port-in my phone number from another carrier?
Yes! You will first need to choose a new number and if desired to port-in a phone number from another carrier please refer to the following support article: https://support.freedompop.com/ap...e%20number
Please Note: There is a $9.99 fee to port-in a number.

Why was I charged $0.01?
We strive to offer a low-cost mobile phone alternative to larger carriers. After downgrading to our basic plan, a $0.01 charge can be applied, please refer to our Service Plans Terms agreement [freedompop.com] under "Active and Suspended Broadband and Phone Service".

What about the Basic Plan?
We will always offer our basic plan. Downgrade directly from your FreedomPop account page anytime once your device ships and your service is activated.

Please Note! When downgrading to the basic plan, an account balance of $2 is required to protect from fraud and leakage, as data usage can be delayed up to 3 hours. There is a pop-up alert before to confirm a $15 charge to add credit into your account. Downgrade is not complete until the pop-up is accepted.

What networks does it use?

-The Alcatel ONE Touch is able to connect to Sprint's 4G LTE and 3G networks. It can also connect via WiFi. To check out 4G LTE and 3G coverage, visit http://www.freedompop.com/coverage3g4g. Be sure to select the 4G LTE and 3G boxes. FreedomPop uses VoIP, so you will need to have a data connection in order to make calls & texts.

*Please note that the First 10GB are at 4G LTE speeds, and slowed to 64kpbs after.

How do I earn extra data? (Freedom Friends)

You can earn additional free data each month by connecting with friends on FreedomPop! You'll earn 50MB of additional data for every friend that joins our service per month, up to a maximum of 500MB per month. Both your account and your friends account must be active. If either account is dormant, sharing data will not work.

You can also share data between friend accounts (a maximum of 500MB, and 100MB with each friend). The account sharing data must be an active one. If the account is inactive it cannot share data with any friends and data cannot be requested of that account.

Please Note: If you have already received 500MB of data -- either from the automatic Freedom Friends function that gives you 50MB per friend or from data that has been shared with you -- you will not be able to accumulate more data from Friends. Please refer to the following support article for more information regarding Freedom Friends: https://support.freedompop.com/ap...86/kw/data

get a credit card that lets you generate a virtual credit card number for each transaction.

then you can have as many FreedomPop numbers or accounts as you like.

you could open a new second "business" PayPal acct with a new paypal email address. Paypal allows you to have 2 seperate accts: one personal and one business. Try that.

I thought virtual numbers were blocked in the last post for the $5 phone everyone was saying and privacy is a no-go - I tried like a zillion times to get that to work and it would not .

Most of our phones work with the CDMA carrier network, only if the device is released. However, they are not unlocked to use with other carriers or to use globally. Please click on the below to see our requirements to release the device.

"Are FreedomPop's phones released?

this does not make sense .

releasing a phone does not unlock the phone 2 work with other carriers . so if verizon uses cdma then by releasing the phone then the phone should , lets just say - work on verizon since verizon is also cdma ? but then your site says , however they are not unlocked 2 use with other carriers . so what does release even do if i cannot use on another cdma network such as verizon ?

if you are using a virtual temporary card number how would that work when they need to bill you later.. often you get the 1cent charges at the end of the month .. they would just lock your account and you would manually have to pay I guess
