Better to buy a 1080 right now and wait for the 1170 that is coming with Ray tracing support for 500 bucks and almost as powerful.

I'll get the 1180 ti if I can afford to wait. Right now my 980 ti it plenty good for my needs. If not, I'll grab the 1180 myself. I try to get the best sub 700 card possible whenever I upgrade. That's usually every two to three series.

It's nice to see the price on these are coming back down.

To think that my 1080 Ti is still the same price after 1 year puts a smile on my face 😁 I'm looking forward to the 1180 Ti tho, not sure when that's going to be out.
Tis tend to be about a year after the non-Ti release.

Where I am, BH would charge sales tax while Newegg does not. Big difference.

I have this card. It runs quite but hot, about 10 degrees hotter than 3 fan TIs.

Pretty sure the 1180 is going to be announced for release pretty soon, at least that's what all the tech tubers say. Seems like it'll be late July or August.

I think it really depends on the die itself.

I had one of these same ones and it ran pretty cool for me 69-72 degrees 40-55% fan. The 1080 I currently use when I first received it was hitting 80-83 degrees 70-90+% fan speed.

I ended up using liquid metal on it and it dropped it down to 68-71 degrees.

Sweet, a $600 card for $750. Up next, why paying $15k over MSRP on a car is somehow a deal.

1170 card according to leaks is supposed to perform at the same level as 1080ti at msrp $500 and with lower power consumption, so it makes sense to wait.
