Bought three of these a few weeks ago. They move some serious air. Loud as fark on high setting but you get used to it/tune it out after a fee minutes. I expect to easily save at least $100 on my electric bill this Summer. two year and they'll pay for them selves

Not exactly the same model, but pretty close - lot's of reviews to answer your question:

Vornado is know for making good quality fans with quiet motors. I have three different ones, the motor on one of them makes a noticeable sound (I should have returned it right away) but the other two are really nice.

Yes, this fan is quite noise on it's highest setting, but that's because it's pushing lots of air.

Just a heads up - In-Warehouse price may be even better. I got a "In-Warehouse" Hot Buys newsletter and it's showing as $29.99 for me. (OH/KY area) Price good through 5/22/18.

Im pretty sure 2-3 weeks ago I paid 39.99 in store with no rebate. This thing is legit, it moves a lot of air for its size.

I just wish the power switch would stay on whether it has power or not, that way I could use a smart switch to automate turning it on.

Hmm...thought I'd check Google Express. It's showing as $34.28 for me (Chicago), just below free shipping threshold. 20% off coupon (SPRING20) knocks $6.86 off the price for a total of $27.42. Just would need to add something else to it to get free shipping.

So my A/C in my apartment has never worked all the years I've lived there. Would this cool the whole room down as it gets like over 80 degrees plus on hot days (windows open brings no relief)and the box fan I have now only cools you if you are directly in front of it. Would this cool the whole room down if I bought it??

For those who are curious about how this compares to the 660 that Best Buy has on sale for about $80.

I believe this model at Costco is the Vornado 270. Costco often changes model numbers for the same exact product.

The two fans seem fairly similar. These things stood out to me:

(660 vs 270)
- 4 speeds vs 3
- high setting: 584cfm vs 516 (660 pushes more air)
- low setting: 257cfm vs 261 (660 has a less aggressive low speed)
- 56watts vs 62

Similarities:
- 5 year warranty
- dimensions
- 6ft cord
-electronic on/off. no smart plug functionality. Frown

Go here to see the full details. You'll have to select the fans yourself.

Fans don't cool the air at all; in fact the heat produced by the motor warms the room a little bit. The benefit they provide is helping your body better cool itself by moving around the air that you're in contact with.
