Been holding out for years to get more of these suitcases, already own 3 of them for our family of 4 now. I use them primarily for international travel for vacations 3 weeks or more. I love the fact they are a latch system instead of zippers. Read and seen to many articles about how easy it is to open zipper suit cases to take or place items into your luggage. I feel a little more secure about the 3 latches that keeps the luggage closed. I know the size is an issue with some airlines, but so far, the ones we take haven't made a fuss about the size, primarily more focused on the weight.

You wouldn't happened to have flown on United with one have you? I'm getting ready for some international travel in a few weeks, but according to United's website this suitcase exceeds their limit by 2 inches.

This is a nice looking suitcase; I'd just hate to run into issues at the airport.

Isn't it too large even for the international flights? I think 28' is the max size that is allowed?

Same, that's embarrassing and PITA to deal with during situations like these. Same thing with Qatar as well. They have 28" max I think

This spinner was designed to the max dimension limit. Having been using it to travel domestically and internationally for the past 7 years. Holding up really really well. Highly recommend.

I'm worried (in many ways) about United. Their maximum exterior dimensions limit is 62" per their website and this is 64" (31+21+12). I really want to buy this, think they'll notice?

I don't think you will have problem. I'm sure Samsonite made it to meet the requirements. If not its kinda stupid to make luggage you can't take on your flight.

American is 62" linear - most of the airlines are around 62

Not so much that you can't take it with you, it's that they'll pull you to the side and make you pay extra for "oversized" luggage.

I flew with United to Japan and China and came back with two of this spinners four months ago. No issue with checking the bags at all.

I can't attest to this bag specifically, but I have had other Samsonite bags flagged by United Airlines in the past.

What I was told is that Samsonite uses the max dimensions of the bag then adds the wheels, and United measures to total dimensions including the wheels.

They let me by with a warning and simply gate checked the bag, but I've been leary of Samsonite bags ever since.

This bag is 32.67" x 23.48" x 13.77" overall dimensions coming to 69.92".
United allows up to 62" linear inches
For the international flight United will charge 200$ for the oversized bag.
This does not mean that united will actually flag it as an oversized bag, but they could if they wanted to and that would cost you 400$ round trip.
