how does one load a LOT of video and audio files on the iPad?

I have a Samsung S2 tablet and all I do is use my PC to copy all the files to 256gb MicroSD card. Insert it into the S2 tablet and that's all. (although I probably need a bigger 400gb card because my 256gb card is already 90% full, with all my audio FLAC and video files) Or when I want to view them on my phone, I just take the MicroSD card out and insert it into my phone.

Can it be done just as easily on the iPads? I've had my iPhone 8 for a while and I still have not figured out how to do this easily and quickly. Frown

Thanks!

Seems like quite the hassle to use a device for what it was not intended...

Nah you're supposed to pour money into the next model 5 days later. No time for content consumption. Duh. (And No, apple says you're not supposed to unless you bought it from them) so why even support them?

As one person posted a link, but didn't add an explanation, VLC will play almost any format on iPad just like on PC. Works great. And transferring media from PC (1st question in the thread) is very easy on VLC as well. Tap a button in the app, and it will give you an ip address (local address of the ipad). Type that into a browser, and you get an interface where you can drag and drop media files onto it, and they upload to the ipad over wifi. Very easy interface, and works great.
