Anker has a battery. This one a capacitor. If you live in hot climate, go for Aukey.

Quality wise both are similar

The 4k cam is not a sony sensor, AND it's not 4k.. hahahaha

AR0521 by On Semiconductor,

2592 x 1944 resolution.. 4k is 3840x2160

AR0521 is a new sensor, it's suppose to be good.

They're testing it on viofo a119a at the moment, IMHO THIS cam-iteration isn't so well refined, even the tunnel transition isn't well done..

Remember guys, 2 cams can have the same sensor, but different tunings, one could work well, and the other could be crummy.

OK, knowledgeable dashcam-owners/fans, can anyone share some feedback and/or give some suggestions on which one if these is better? And why?

If so, some replies would be very much appreciated!

I just got myself a 2001 Honda CR-V a few days ago and I would really like to try to get a decent/good, affordable dashcam. So, some help with making a decision about this would be great to get!

Edit: Can anyone comment on how these two Aukey models compare to the Anker A1 and C1 dashcams?

Need reviews of the 4k... Not sure I'd 4k30 would be better than 1080p60 when it comes to accidents vs details. One things for sure, I'm not buying another dashcam without built in wifi for downloading the clips to my phone.

I wish there were some decent battery operated ones that can be charged at home overnight or something like that. I hate cables.

Are all such dashcams allowed in all States, or is there any specific rules?

Thanks for the reply and the information and suggestion. I do live in a hot climate, as I'm in Arizona, and while I live up north of the Phoenix area, where it's typically about 15 to 20 degrees cooler, I actually work in Scottsdale, which is in the Phoenix area, and will probably be moving back down there some time this year, so the battery/capacitor issue is something that I have been aware of and need to keep in mind.

For these prices, would you recommend getting one of these Aukey dashcams? The 4K one does not have as many reviews as the 1080p one does, nor is it rated as highly, and I like that it's cheaper, so I'm thinking about getting this $50 Aukey, as opposed to the Anker A1, which, as of earlier today, was available for around $42, with a Mother's Day promo code that was available.

I have this one for almost an year and half. No issues. Good IQ (Image Quality). I live in TX 100+ degrees heat in summer.

My only complain is the memory slot is at top and not easy to pop out. I have to take off the power cable and suction to extract the memory card.

I would personally avoid any dash cam with a built-in battery where 100F and frequent full sun exposure is the norm.

Heat diminishes the effective life of the battery over time and eventually may cause the battery to expand or worse.

Better to play safe with a capacitor based dashcam.
