W = vxa is correct but only if power factor is below 1. if power factor is 1 then it is va instead of watt.

By default it only beeps when the battery is getting low, but it can be completely disabled or set to crazy mode.

Fwiw this is 40 bucks regular price at Walmart so you're saving 7 bucks not 17.

This is a nice and compact unit and I like it, though you should consider the cost of the non-replaceable battery when buying this. It was on sale for $27 a few times last year, and it's definitely worth it at that price since batteries for other UPSes are $15-20 on their own.

I'm just curious how you setup surge protection when there's only two outlets

Did you read the product description completely? There are 6 NEMA 5-15R outlets (meaning they will accept a plug with or without a ground) on the top of the device. 4 of the 6 outlets have Battery Back-up + Surge Protection. The remaining 2 outlets offer Surge Protection only. Your wall outlet that this device plugs into should be accept its NEMA 5-15P plug or plug into an auxiliary device for non-grounded installations. Sorry if I am not understanding you question.
