Not sure how great of a deal this is. Right before last BF, I got a version of this laptop with half the SSD space and 1080p screen but a GT MX150 dedicated graphics chip for $760. Also not sure how well integrated graphics will handle a 4k screen.

Runs a little noisy but not too hot. The thin form factor is really nice.

I grabbed the i5 version from Best buy a few weeks ago. It seems like a good computer but the fan can be a little noisy and th track pad seems a little overly sensitive.

Right before Black Friday. I would think Memorial Day will bring similar deals. The quad-core is a beast.

There is a 14 inch version of this laptop, 720S-14IKB (Type 81BD), which I have. (i7-8550U/16GB/512GB, $999 at Micro Center)

I believe the differences between these two 720s models are:
- Weight, 14 inch is about 1.2 pounds heavier than 13 inch
- GPU, 14 inch has a dedicated Nvidia MX150
- Display, 13 inch has 4K vs standard 1080p on 14 inch
- Charging, 13 inch uses USB-C for charging vs proprietary port on 14 inch
- Ports, 13 inch has an additional Type-C port due to above reason
- RAM, 14 inch has an upgradeable RAM slot, 13 inch is soldered on

Something to keep in mind since this can cause some confusion.

How is the screen brightness on your model? I am about to grab the lower end model for $799 at Microcenter. Notebookcheck says 14" model is decently bright around 300 nits. Does the screen wobble a lot when typing or is it pretty firm?

The screen is good and bright, i had this model but returned it. Not because it was bad it wasnt what i was looking for. i recommend you wait for a deal cause the 720s model on bj which is sold out was a better buy than the microcenter.

after trying a few laptop out i settle for a surface book with nvidia gpu, i7 16gb, 512gb. i got it offerup marketplace for $500 prestine still under warranty. after trying and owning, surface pro 4, xps 13 9650, asus ux490 deluxe, yoga 720s. The Surface book is hand down the best laptop around FOR ME and best build quality in any other laptops mention.

On that laptop you have. Go to power settings. both balanced and power save and change the cpu process/usage to 97% or lower and your fan will go to quiet mode. 2 or 3% of your processor speed lowered will not make a difference.

It is a good laptop, but overpriced. you getting it for that $500 price made that a very good purchase decision.

Good points and info. I just want to point out that the 14" model's USB C port can charge the laptop if you use a proper USB C charger. It has to have a high enough rating for voltage and amps. I don't have the right specific charger, but I have a usb C portable cellphone battery for my Pixel 2 and tried connecting it to this Lenovo 720s and it charged the freaking thing because the charger supports rapid charging.

the 14" has an upgradable RAM but it is only one slot. the 8GB is lost and replaced if you want to upgrade to 16GB (1 module stick)

I wonder how this deal compares to this https://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/tab...81C3005QUS

I just bought the linked deal earlier today. Should arrive this Thursday.

Basically it's a yoga 720, 8th gen i7, 16gb memory, 1tb ssd, and 13.3 UHD touch display. It's on the lenovo site on sale for $1170. Seems like a good deal for those looking for a 2 in 1.
