How's the quality of this compared to a regular hose?

Reviews seem positive, 76% 5-star, for this new model which also scores a A on Fakespot.

I wouldn't expect it to last as long as a normal hose. You really need to treat these pretty gingerly. The expandable hoses, no matter which you get, just don't have the same durability. There's a million of them being sold under different names on Amazon and I'm sure they all come from the same factory in china.

With that said, I just bought a similar one to this on Amazon because my wife hates dealing with the bulky hoses and it looks like crap coiled up on my front lawn all the time. These just loop up easily and hang from the spigot after use. If it lasts a year I'll be happy.

I would trust tacklife more than others as they have other products that get good reviews. This is a good deal if you're in the market.

Just bought, trying this out. I plan to keep this indoors and keep moving in and out when used. I have an all-rubber one that I'm keeping outside.

Thanks.

I have easily bought a dozen or so 'expandable' type hoses in the last couple of years

Every one of them has failed. I still like using them, they are convenient, but I just plan on them lasting for the summer and that is about it. The most common failure point is right after the fitting on either end of the hose - where the inner hose goes onto the metal 'barb'. I have tried to repair them but they just end up failing again. Just keep that in mind

Yes, every one I have failed too. Don't expect this to last long. Really convenient to connect to a pressure washer tho.

Why would anyone buy these expandable hoses? They all fail 100% of the time. Get a hose from Costco or the Sears rubber hose and get 10 years out of them.

DanweiD - that's EXACTLY what I was thinking about using this for - i have a small townhouse so i rarely use the external water but occasionally do like to pressure wash car or the driveway - was wondering if you thought the "leakproof" aspect of this hose was as advertised. my regular hose leaks like crazy from where i try to connect the hose into the pressure washer.

Because you don't have to roll back up some 'monster' hose. With these, you turn the water off, they shrink up really small. Also, they are a lot easier to use when doing things like washing your car, etc. They do come in handy

Also, I have had several 'fail' after the 12 month warranty expires - I just file an extended warranty claim with my credit card, and I got my money back

Got this along with 4 year protection warranty for $7.41 extra.
I mean, if we know for certain that it will break, this $7.41 protection plan with no deductible, hidden fee, or shipping fee is a steal.

Don't waste your money on this crap. Buy one of the Apex Zero-G 5/8-in x 50-ft Premium-Duty Kink Free Woven Hose https://www.lowes.com/pd/5/8-in-x.../999972996

5 year warranty that says it's an in-store swap. My grandma's survived the winter outside and is still working fine. They're also sold at Walmart and Costco has the 100' this year for $40.

Last expandable hose I purchase was the one that Home Depot sells or used to sell, after two weeks it leaked more than the Titanic!

I would buy the ones at Costco or Walmart as the one @ Lowe's is almost $40 for me for the 50'
