I don't think this is a good deal The reason is if you look at a typical fare of $700 for a round-trip including all taxes, you will accrue about 5,000 miles and travel in the same seat. If you book the seat with 48,000 miles, you have to pay about $175 in tax depending on the country you go to and you won't accrue any mileage. Personally, i think this is a bad use of miles. Obviously, numbers change based on where you live and where you are going.

Off-topic. Does anyone know if Delta now allows split payments between two credit cards?

You can purchase gift cards with each credit card and then purchase ticket using voucher numbers. I don't think you can split up credit cards though during purchase.

I'm seeing ~3.3cents per mile value, in a couple searches, which is a decent value IME. But more importantly, LOTS of availability.

My particular case is CVG, which is more difficult to find award availability at low mileage costs. This case of 48k miles, I'm seeing WIDE availability to multiple European destinations at a cash price hovering ~$1450.

Is there actually a way to tell which cities and whatnot?

This is super vague.

Though, I checked AMS and BRU also which are not on the list. Wide availability.

In that case, what is your idea of a good use of Delta miles??

DeltaOne is great, but you are looking at a minimum of 140k miles/RT (if you are lucky enough to actually find a fare at the bottom of the unpublished award chart). If you have the pool of miles, that's great value, but not everyone has a large pool of SkyPesos to draw from/needs to travel like their favorite travel blogger. For normal redemption, 48k RT for Europe is good value, better than most options on Delta.
