NEW! Microsoft Rewards has enabled direct deposit. Now when you redeem points for a Microsoft Gift Card the value will be directly deposited into your Microsoft account. You'll no longer receive a code in your inbox that you'll have to take to Microsoft.com to apply yourself. We'll only email you to confirm when the value is ready for you to spend.

When you confirm your order for a Microsoft Gift Card, you agree to its full value being added to your Microsoft account. Subject to the Microsoft Gift Card terms.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interesting that they initiated this for 2 reasons:

1. no codes - used to be that codes had an expiration date to be redeemed to an xbox account, and the value expires 90 days after loaded to the xbox account. now, it's just a straight shot with 90 day expiration.

2. this cracks down on multiple MS accounts earning points and redeeming the codes on 1 account for a bigger balance and bigger purchases.

Decent deal but more worth saving up for 1 year of Xbox Live for 29,0000 (been on sale for 23,000)

Saw the $5 one this morning, I must have missed the $10 one! Great value considering other $5 gift cards go for 5,250 points.

If you need something right now then the current deal is great, but otherwise I'm with you. I will wait and hopefully they offer that sale again (been offered very frequently in the past)

Got two, thanks. Sucks that they expire, though

I'm not looking to buy anything else right now except State of Decay 2 and I already have enough to get that. The big games come out this fall (Red Dead Redemption 2, BO4, etc.). So I'll wait and see if they go back to the 7000 for $10.

By them not giving a code it also keeps you from reselling it. Kind of stinks you can't give it to someone. Say a friend needed $5 or less more to get a game and you wanted to help out.
