So, I obviously have a problem. Went to HD today to return my One Key Sawzall purchased yesterday because it turns out I already have one, and noticed this strange device marked down from $349 to $88. They only had the floor model left, but I picked it up anyway. I think I may have to open a construction company soon.

The first tool of its kind, the M18 FUEL SUPER HAWG delivers the power and run-time necessary to complete cordless rough-ins. Optimized for Plumbing and HVAC professionals, this drill powers through 6" holes and can drill over (75) 2-9/16" holes per charge in 2x dimensional lumber with a self-feed bit. The POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers constant power under heavy load to maintain drilling speed. REDLINK PLUS Intelligence is the most advanced electronic system on the market, preventing damage to the tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. The REDLITHIUM XC5.0 batteries deliver up to 2.5X more run-time, 20% more power and 2X more life than standard 18 volt lithium-ion batteries. A mechanical clutch in low speed protects the tool from damage in the case that a bit binds up and the tool stalls.
  • POWERSTATE brushless motor provides constant power under load to power through 6 in. holes
  • REDLINK PLUS intelligence ensures optimal performance and overload protection to prevent damage to the tool or battery during heavy applications
  • REDLITHIUM XC 5.0 batteries deliver over (75) 2-9/16 in. holes per charge
  • Mechanical clutch in low gear
  • Included: 2709-20 M18 FUEL Super Hawg 1/2 in. right angle drill, chuck key, side handle
  • Compatible with all M18 batteries and M18 chargers
  • Includes: M18 FUEL SUPER HAWG 1/2 in. right angle drill (tool only), (1) chuck key, (1) side handle

The hardware guy did mention that choice of items to clearance, and discounts, are decided on the store level based on sell-through at each individual store.

What's up with all of the TDs?

"Unable to replicate deal"

it's a viable option...

Sure, that's understandable, but they were showing up within minutes of my posting and even include "not a good price"

TU from me. Even though I may not find one, it's a really good price. I think people TD when it's not available at their local store, which is not a reason to TD.

For a stated b&m ymmv deal it's viable, but it really shouldn't be if you want to keep getting notified about these potential deals. By definition a b&m ymmv deal is more difficult to land. These guys giving TD obviously tried and failed to replicate, but they did like the deal and therefore wanted the opportunity to try and get it. why not curse HD for not having that price widely available, thank OP for at least bringing the deal to your attention, and move on to the next deal. It's this unappreciative reaction that made me stop posting good viable ymmv deals quite some time ago and I'm sure it has put off many others as well

It's not just this deal, I reported my own post in a Milwaukee thread that was getting downvoting for no good reason, and asked the mods to look at punitive down voting of Milwaukee deals lately. It appears to be a trend presumably to keep it from tripping deal alerts for folks using the default thresholds, I'll assume it's the professional resellers or the folks mooching deal leads and down voting to reduce competition... or just people being d-bags about YMMV deals even when they are clearly tagged as such.

Probably a segment of slickdeals that want to get every one they can to resell and downvote to hopefully prevent others from seeing the deal and getting there first. You know, scum.

TU for the effort! Trolls don't realize that if they keep TD deals it will discourage from posting leading to no chance of knowing about a deal..

Most likely because they either don't realize what these normally cost or simply clicked the first option out of convenience.
