I legit wtf'd when they said you put in the microwave.

Be advised that this can be erased and reused (with microwave) only up to 5-6 times before it's rendered useless.

Their new notebook 'Everlast' however, seems good since they state you can just wipe the pages and use it again and again. However, I wouldn't buy it unless there is a good sale.

I said the exact same thing, and laughed. Then I said forget it when it's only good for 5 "microwaves" 😂

Is this just app driven with a few markers on the pages for recognition?

Note the reason it works in microwave is because of the frixion pen. That pen erases by heat, so you can use an eraser or you can even hold a lighter behind the paper (just for heat, not to catch fire) and the ink with magically disappear. Its actually used for magic tricks many times. Write a matrix of letters some with this pen and some with a regular black pen. Then when you hold a lighter to it, only the frixion pen will disappear. Good for forced-card magic tricks

The microwave notebooks have historically had some issues and aren't as good long term. I have about 5 of the Rocketbook Everlast Executive size tablets and love them (coming from someone who was constantly buying new 'notebooks' and have stacks of them laying around)... this one has stuck with me. They use Frixion pens (erasable ink), not regular pens. I'd recommend passing on this one and trying the Everlast one.

They're also 'digital' in a sense, they have an app and you can program aspects of it when you circle certain icons and snap a pic it will automatically upload it to a destination and folder of your choice (Dropbox, Drive, etc.) to organize your notes and digitize them (I use Google Drive).

If you want the small pocket size ones they're on Indigogo right now: https://www.indiegogo.com/project...ini-kids#/

Real atrocity here is when they said it erases in the time it takes to make a cup of tea...making a cup of tea in the microwave?! We're not savages.

Their website has or used to have a sample page for you to try. You can download it, print it on regular paper, and write on it and use their markings on the paper to upload.

I tried it once or twice and was not impressed. Or maybe it's because I'm not a student anymore so I didn't really feel the need to write as many things down and upload them.

But you can try it out through this method, which is why it's offered in the first place, before buying. Obviously it's not a microwavable version because you'll be using regular old printer paper, but you can at least see how it scans (quality) and if you find it auto-uploading to your storage device of choice as being useful

Yeah, basically. The pens (Frixon, probably others) are the real trick. You need these pens to erase when writing on the notebooks but they're erasable on regular paper. If you use Evernote or OneNote it might be worth it; they're fine notebooks but if you're not using that feature you'll probably prefer another notebook that you can get cheaper.

Popcorn and fried frog genitals. Not my cup of tea.
