Go with the 8000. I had to replace my garbage disposal a few months ago. It's more money but it's the only one with a lifetime warranty. Will save you money in the end.

I just installed the 1hp model from the last deal, and it is a beast. It is absolutely huge. It works great, but I almost couldn't fit it under the sink with the current plumbing. I went for it because if the warranty, but if I had to do it again, I would do a smaller one.

Is this like a Clarkman? If so, installing it is "a big job. You've got to dismantle the latch hasp from the
auxiliary drainage line." -Puddy

Sorry, every thread about garbage disposals makes me think of Kramer making a salad in the bath...

I wiould recommend the 3/4 HP, enough power for home use, better sound insulation, and does not overload a typical 20A outlet (so it does not need a dedicated outlet, it can share with GCFI for example).

I got the 1hp for 120.33 back in September to replace my old one that clogged my T a lot. This eats whatever I throw in it and it doesn't clog. Plus it's quiet for a disposal. I wouldn't get a different one as it's perfect as I can imagine.

and yes it is huge. almost to the floor of my cabinet. My first time to ever do something like this and I just piped up to it and it was a breeze.

We almost never use our garbage disposal. 1/3 should be fine, right?
