Home Depot in Waynesboro, VA sold the Chamberlain B970 Garage Door Opener (all the bells and whistles like exterior keypad, battery backup, MY Q connection with smartphone app) for $198 ($208.49 w/tax) when regular price is $268. This appears to be unmarked deal. No coupons were utilized in the processing of this deal. Unknown whether this will hold at other stores, and the Wboro store is now sold out. Amazon reviews 4.3 of 5 stars, and mine is already installed and working well.

Sorry for bringing you here if you deal alert for ePay eMay :-(

Beginner post... Yep... Pop the popcorn for the show about to ensue for using price mistake in your post.

$60 off is not worthy of that phrase by any means.

Gotta be careful with the price mistake phrase, if it's not a PM, you'll get rushed with thumbs downs. Good price but maybe not a PM.

I'm puzzled, as I know there was an attached receipt. Maybe it just has to be vetted first. Either way, here it is again... via a hyperlink [dropbox.com]

Is the more HP the better for these garage openers? I see they range from 1/2 HP - 2 HP

No too much power or too little power both bad for your door and opener system. Opener shouldn't have to work hard to pull the garage door, it's the job of tension spring. Garage door opener is simply replacing you pushing door up and down.

Good price on a Chamberlain brand 1-1/4 hp belt drive with battery backup and My-Q. The only thing it is missing is the My-Q hub. But, since last year, it has become really hard to find one that includes the hub.

I see that HD has the 3/4 hp belt drive on sale as well, so you might be able to find a better price in-store.

I replaced both of my openers last year with Crafts-berlain belt drives and one of them came with the My-Q hub. I thought I'd hate My-Q, but I love it!

Thanks for the post!

Yeah, sorry for triggering the alert. Truth is it is a mistake in pricing, and I forgot about the holy grail of SD. They must have mis-keyed the pricing and it will likely be fixed eventually, as this is matching the price of a different model that is significantly inferior.

Right, more HP isn't necessarily better. If your garage can't open with a 0.5-0.75HP model then you need to pay for a door tune-up. That being said, the value here is in the attachments, as it is uncommon to find the smaller motors with all the remotes, keyless entry, wi-fi connection, etc.

I was wondering about all this My Q hub vs. My Q built-in. I have a feeling that the features of the hub are built-in to this model B970. I haven't taken the time yet to set up the My Q features, but it claims all the benefits. I notice the wall switch has motion detection for the lights, which was the only piece I really was afraid might be missing from the hub. I believe the company is redesigning it so that the hub is built into the wall switch, which makes more sense anyway seeing as how that is probably physically closer to the Wi-Fi signal and it reduces the number of attachments to the motor.
