That's an OK price but it's a single stick. It would be more applicable to have 2x4gb sticks at this price point. Still, it's a good find tor someone that can live without dual channel support (grandma?)

The deal is through Fry's, to which I would not normally need to pay tax, but via Google Express sales tax is charged, which is more than half of the coupon savings.

I personally dont know - my last build was an I5 (intel) so I'm a bit out of the loop.

However, there is no shortage of posts about people not being able to run memory at it's rated speeds (> 2400) for some reason. Again, I dont know the specifics as I've only been considering building a 2nd box (Ryzen this time) and have skimmed a few articles.

Good luck..

I made two separate orders. I got 16gb for $125 plus tax but I get taxed everywhere.

8gb in 2x4gb, 3000mhz, $88 from Fry's on google express:

I bought that set a few weeks ago via amazon and it works perfect at 3000 on ryzen 2. Ryzen 1 the CPU's memory controller won't reliably go over 2933, but ryzen 2 can handle 3400 without any issues (and possibly higher, but over 3400 is where ram starts getting very pricey).

Did you do it on the same Google account or separate ones? I'm thinking of getting 2 myself, but having my brother order the second one, unless I can do it myself. Thanks.

I paid $83 at the time. The same kit is substantially more on amazon now, but $79 via google express is pretty dang good. It's cheap enough that I'm thinking of picking up another set.

MB: I have a ASRock AB350 for my ryzen 1600 and I got an MSI X370 Gaming Plus for my 2700. Both are solid boards, the ASRock I need a fan on the CPU VRMs (upper left) or they get too hot, and the MSI I need a fan on the chipset (lower right) or it gets too hot.

Both boards have been pretty solid for me, but you can get some great deals on X370s now that the X470s are out, so I'd generally go for the x370 over both the b350 and x470.

Hey I did take a look, you will need a low capacity SSD to install OS10. 120GB is fine, 240GB isn't issue, I prefer 240GB.
