Impact driver ($80) and battery ($54) alone are more expensive for this combo kit. This deal is pretty nice seeing that it comes with the impact driver, battery, and the charger for $49.00.

Note that this is a non-brushless (...so brushed) model.

Decent deal. Note this is older non-brushless (...so brushed) model. I'm eagerly waiting for impact wrench and multi tool deals.

That's a good point that this is non-brushless. I'll put that in my description!

Normally you don't include tax when giving the price, since tax varies by jurisdiction.

For average home use, is a regular drill better/more versatile?

Oh I see... So normally, it's just the price of the combo without tax? I'll update the post. thanks!

If you can find the battery starter kit deal with the free tool, then you can do that and get the 1/4 brushless impact for free. So $100 for 2 big batteries, charger, bag, and brushless impact.

note this isnt a drill.. its an impact driver. and its not worth $80
and the 1.5ah battery is pretty small its not worth $54
the 2 pack of 4ah batteries is under $100

This is still a decent deal.. just not as good as advertised

Esp if you need another small battery. for lightweight operation.

Although I think the other Home depot promo is better

$99 for

2-(3ah) batteries
rapid charger
bag
bare tool (about 20 to choose from)

Yes. You can drill and drive (screws) with a regular drill. This is better at driving but basically(*) can't drill.

(*) The short answer is that you can use hex-shank drill bits in an impact driver. ... But if precise hole placement, size, and roundness are crucial, then stick with a drill and regular drill bits. [toolguyd.com]

It's just different. Drill is designed for making holes but it can also drive fasteners but doesn't have the torque to do a great job on fasteners--stripped heads aren't uncommon. Impact driver is designed for driving fasteners.

Thanks for the comment. I've updated it to say driver instead of drill.

Not to be one sided but I do personally own this driver as well. For average home use, it definitely gets the jobs done. Haven't had a problem with the tool in years.
