Great deal on this. The 1500 is definitely the one to buy over the 1000 or even the 3000. Recently returned my 1000 for a 1500, but paid a bit more, even after hunting around.

- 1500 has more oscillations per minute than the 1000. I believe the 1000 has 20,000 and the 1500 has 35,000. The motor of the 1000 vibrates and chatters terribly; it was very unpleasant to use. The 1500 is smooth.

- 1500 has "3D action" which means the brush heads oscillate left and right and in and out. Whether that translates to better cleaning, I don't know, but the 1500 feels nicer to use.

- 1500 has a lithium ion battery that lasts twice as long as the 1000's nickel cadmium battery. If you step up to the 3000 (bluetooth), that one actually has the NiCd battery too. You need to step up again once more to get the bluetooth and the lithium ion battery!

- 1500 has the visible pressure sensor, which lets you know you're pushing too hard. 1000 does not.

- 1500 has multiple speeds (2 I think), the 1000 does not.

I've used Braun toothbrushes since the 90s; I usually buy one every 5 years or so. This is my favorite so far!

I was going to get the 1000, but from reading the reviews, the 1500 seems to be significantly better than the 1000. for $10 bucks more, it's worth it to me.

I just bought the 1000 from Target for $25 yesterday. The box has a $10 off coupon and the Cartwheel app has a $5 off coupon.

I have the 2000 and the 1000 has only one speed it looks like. You definitely want to be able to change the speed of the bristles because for me, the higher speed is too aggressive.

Are you sure it was the 1500 and not the 1000? Both Keepa and Camelcamelcamel have no record of such low price or lightning deal existed, the cheapest with $45. Nor was it ever a slickdeal posted for 1500 for that price, but I have seen 1000 for $19.99 before.

What is the difference between the 1500 and 2000? They appear to be similar.
