Amazon just dropped the price on this saw from $179 to $149. I've had it on my watch list for a while now for my dad. I've owned one for a few months and they are great!

This saw is a beast. Good buy if you already have a few flexvolt batteries.

Really nice saw and is def a replacement for a corded saw. I have this one at home but the dcs577 rear handle is truly a monster which I have at work. Put my dad's worm drive saw to shame. At a higher price point of course tho

Dewalts XR line is really great but I think if you're just a weekend warrior and not much more, it might be a bit overkill. Also, if you're really looking for a kit, I strongly recommend that over buying tools individually.

One thing I'm trying to research is if Dewalt has EGO's style technology where the tool knows what battery you have in it and bases it's performance on it.. ie 5 Ah will make a tool better than a 2.5 Ah (a way to save the battery from dying real fast).

One thing to note is that the saw blade itself is on the right side. Not ideal for most right handed users. Line of sight of actual cut is terrible

I have a 60 volt DeWalt leaf blower pretty light without a battery though so I could just imagine cutting with this all how heavy it would be

Good note. 577 is better in this case.

How is this compared to the DCS570? Almost same price.

Can this Saw work with 20V 6amp batteries?

Blade left or blade right is a matter of preference for all, irregardless of if they are right or left handed. There are solid arguments for either and I would never try to tell someone else what is ideal for them. For many it just comes down to what they are used to, as there is a bit of a learning curve to switching.

No.. 20V tools can work with 20V or 60V Flexvolt batteries.
60V tools (like this saw) only work with 60V batteries.

The "Flex" part means the 60V battery also works with 20V tools (the battery will detect the connection type and reconfigure its output to match what the tool needs.) The opposite is not true -- the tool needs 60V and would not work with a 20V battery.

Anyone get this recently from Amazon? Wondering if they are the newer version with the rafter hook.

I think it is funny how many people complain about the blade being on the "wrong" side. Try being a lefty.

I have the lefty worm style of this flexvolt and a right side 20v and I use both, it depends on the job. Sometimes you need the other, not often. Btw, I 'm right handed and prefer the blade right (for more consistent square cuts due to the majority of the shoe and weight being on the work piece as opposed to the cutoff piece) but I got used to the left side worms and prefer the power over the blade (I use the gravity method or use it left handed to get consistent square cuts). I've been considering upgrading my 20v righty to a flexvolt so I would have both versiins.
