OK, so Rainbow Six Vegas (and its sequel) are among my favorite games of all time. I just couldn't get into this one, though. Some of the best features from those older games--hugging walls, blind firing, the dumb stuff the terrorists say--is missing from this version. Frankly, I'm surprised that this game has such a strong community, because it's nowhere near as fun as the Vegas games.

There's nothing else strictly in this genre available, so there's virtually no choice. Not the best game out there but no real alternative.

Is this game still full of hackers? I remember playing it a few months after release and it was full of wall hackers. Sad they let that happen to such a good game.

That's because Vegas is up there with GRAW (ghost recon advanced warfighter) and socom 1&2 as the most tactical games of all time! Since then Ubisoft and the tactical game genre has massively gone downhill, the tactical game genre used to be primarily adults playing, now it's primarily 13 and under playing. On top of that the tactical genre is now destroyed by labeling games such as call of duty as "tactical". Simply put shooter games these days are dominated by kids despite M ratings, and are mostly run and gun style gameplay with a mix in of random grenades/C4 or bombs/traps and other nonsense. What once was glorious was killed off before its prime, siege is a VERY crappy game and does not deserve to represent the rainbow six name. Most people do not know this but siege was in development for like 7 or so years, originally the game changed many names but was supposed to be Rainbow Six Patriots, which would have been a much better game with a amazing story, for unknown reasons (many speculate Ubisoft did not want to spend major money on what they thought was a dying breed due to the popularity of games like call of duty) many bs reasons were given but no serious details and the game was completely scrapped. Later after major public outrage the remains of what was once Patriots were taken under new development teams, the content was modified and watered down, then what was part of the story was destroyed to "enhance the multiplayer experience" or in other words to save money and rush the game out. The game was indeed rushed out (even though it was in development for 7+ years and still is not a complete game) and it's obvious it was a rushed cash grab game. Siege is the game that started new season passes every year and it's a major cash grab that the kids love so they cater to kids and the gameplay they want. Ubisoft has gone downhill, first they killed ghost recon with future soldier and its gears of war gameplay, then they killed rainbow six with siege and its half complete watered down game. There's nothing left for true tactical gamers and that's one reason why video games now are dominated by kids, most of whom troll you and brag about how "you are trash kid, ur not mlg pro bro" and other nonsense. I was one of the biggest fans of Ubisoft and Rainbow Six, I even used to play Vegas professionally years ago, but the series is sadly dead now and it will never be like the old days, R.I.P. rainbow six, you were loved and enjoyed for years, you were among the kings of tactical games, but now you are just another call of duty wannabe with micro transactions and season passes.

PS this game has been in the $10-15 price range before and likely will be again, but honestly that is still too much for this crappy game.
