I checked out the laptop in frys. The screen looks huge compared to my 13.3 inch macbook pro and the bezels are thin. Things i disliked about it in my 5 mins with it, the webcam is really bad worse than vga so no skype calls for me, the keyboard does not have any throw and there is flex in the middle. The laptop is really light for a 15.6 but the brushed aluminum is just plastic and there is flex everywhere, middle of the lid, middle of keyboard if you push down even lightly it goes in. Also the screen goes so far, it doesn't do 180 degrees more like upto 75 degrees max. The screen is matt, but not sure about the brightness. I couldn't test the speakers since stupid frys won't have internet on demo machines and windows 10 didn't even have a single music file to play. Not bad for the price if you are ok with the size, weight size its on par with a 13-14 inch. I am so used to the sub 14 inch screens on laptops this looked to me like a desktop but sure the screen is big and i think it will help a lot with Photoshop and eclipse.

Because $100 for a 128GB SSD is a ripoff?

Confirm an m.2 slot is available. If there is, this is a terrific deal. A cheap 120gb m.2 SSD can be had for under $40 on sale. I know because I put one in for a friend

According to Amazon Question/answers, yes there is a SATA M2.SSD (not NvME) slot available.

Does doing this affect the warranty?

To put an SSD hard drive or m2, is it just basically a few screws and a small cover or do you need to take off the whole bottom?

Will never buy an ASUS again. Manufacturing is poor. I don't know about this unit but one I got on Black Friday last year is crap beyond it's specs.
In my recent experience, laptops seem to be poorly manufactured in general nowadays
