Yes, this runs a full time UniFi server application for managing all UniFi network gear and can provide hotspot and guest portal services 24/7.

This code didn't work for me, maybe limited to certain subscribers?

If anyone has one of these, does it perform any better than say a dedicated Raspberry Pi running the controller?

Interested in this too. Curious is a RPi3+ or already on 24/7 server would suffice versus buying new hardware.

It's the same software so, no probably not. On top of that you can obviously run other services on the RPI that might be useful.

One thing I do want to tell people about these is that it is basically a computer and is insanely sensitive to power fluctuations. Before disconnecting it from power you NEED TO shut down the controller from the interface. If you do not, or a power failure, whatever, 99% of the time it will break the database they use requiring you to SSH into the unit and repair the database or restore from the backup on the SD card.

I run one of these in a third world country which frequently loses power and have never ever had a broken database.
