If anyone intends on using it without a native type-c port on computer, it's good to do some reading here: https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/co...mment_list

TL;DR it won't work with current type-c to dp cables. Either your computer has full function type-c or you'll need certain pcie adapter.

Seems to work on some Windows 10 laptops with USB-C Thunderbolt ports. Not guaranteed based on what I've researched.

Then, on the Windowss desktop side, you will need a Sunix UPD2018 card to convert DisplayPort to USB-C alt mode DisplayPort. Those cards cost at least $65, making other small 4k monitors something to consider as well.

Finally, the USB hub on this, as well as the brightness control, do not seem to work on Windows 10. So all these hurdles kind of make this a Mac-only option, which is what LG designed it for in the first place.

Yup awesome deal if you are a Macbook user but not worth the hurdles if you have a PC.

I take it my 1070 GTX isn't going to play nicely with those ports.

This monitor is usually 439.95 refurbished on Amazon. At 199.99 it's a still. It's a little smaller at 22", but it's still 4k.

Sounds like it's a good deal but stay away if you're a Windows user?

Damnit! I was looking at this monitor for months and if I'm not mistaken, it's a $600+ monitor.

I ended up settling on the BH Photo deal last week for the Ultrawide 29UM68P for $180.

But I have a 2017 15" MBP and was still looking to get one of these eventually.

I guess I'll just enjoy a 29" Ultrawide and skip the 4K resolution.

But I'm mad now....

Mac users should be used to overpaying by now so $200 refurb would be a Slickdeal #loweredexpectations
