These suck. I'd type out why but I'm just tired of posting the long speil every other day this is listed on sale. Just know these feel cheap and there are better more convenient options at this price point.

Copy/pasta my friend, copy/pasta nodlaugh out loud.

I'd be curious to know why they're shîtty. I just received my Dyson V8 absolute yesterday and was blown away... definitely happy I bought it. Right now we have hard wood floors, but will be moving next year and if we get a place that has carpet I'll buy a Miele canister model to complement this Dyson V8 (which I'll use for the kitchen/bathroom/car/corners/etc.). It's SO f*cking convenient!!! Light, maneuverable, good suction, great motorized floor brushes. I'm not sure I'd buy a Dyson upright model really. There are plenty of better (and yes, considerably more expensive) models to choose from (e.g. a Miele for $500 laugh out loud).

Anyway thanks for the feedback on this upright model :-).

Counterpoint: I've had this model for 3-4 years with absolutely zero issues. It has outlived and outsucked all of the 10+ other cheapo vacuums ($75-$130) I had ever used. No complaints here, although some bits of it do feel a little flimsy and it doesn't have much torsional rigidity.

This is the opposite of light and convenient. This isn't the V8.

I bought this during the last sell. I hate it. The plastic handle feels cheap, the hose is too hard to stretch out, the rubber on the cord is too thick and isn't very flexible (feels cheap), and there's no where to store the rotating hose brush. The big ball design is hard to maneuver and the main carpet brush on the front of the vacuum is too high to fit under most furniture. This is exacerbated by the extremely flimsy, bending handle. The cannister is small and doesn't hold much, especially if you have pets/fur. The suction works... but so does the suction on every other vacuum. Using this vacuum... the experience is sub-par. I hate it.

Edit: Oh. And I forgot about the standing/rolling mechanism. It's nearly impossible to roll this thing around without it collapsing into "vacuum mode". Half the time I set it up when puttting it away, the vacuum collapses, crashing to the floor. Of course the cleanly wrapped cable falls off when this happens as well... into a knot.

I much prefer the Hoover Windtunnel Air (and I'm sure there are other alternatives that beat both of these vacuums): https://www.amazon.com/UH70400-Wi...004G5TQIM/

And about 1cm in diameter and really stiff. The rubber feels cheap.

I still have a Dyson DC24 Blueprint Limited Edition, which I like. Does anyone know if this is a step down or up from that?

LOL seriously. It's pretty amazing. I've seen videos of people who have modified their battery packs or have just replaced aging cells. I'll definitely do that when the time comes, but not any time soon. I just got the f*cking thing. Yeah it's expensive, but whatever if you have the budget for it then f*ck it. Compared to my 10+ year old Bissell upright this thing is insane. A pleasure to use, and something I definitely expect to be using with some frequency (MUCH to my wife's content LOL...).

But.... again this isn't the V8. **This thing** is a totally different vacuum.
