This is a very good "smaller" smoker ... I own this and use it for when we go camping .... This is NOT a set and forget though .. it does NOT have digital controls so YOU must keep an eye on the temperature .. does NOT take allot of adjusting ... Its good for about two full rack of ribs ... great if you have 2-3 ppl you are wanting to feed -- but NOT for a family ... It gets really good reviews and I would definitely purchase again ... BUT with that said -- if you are not use to smoking - then maybe a digital model would be better for you ...

I actually have the MES30 and am still debating on getting this, This seems a lot easier to use due to size. But who knows. The MES30 is very big. This looks like atleast half the size.

Looking at the size it looks like it may be difficult to control the temperature and keep it consistent.

I have this one as well. Temperature stays on the nose once you know where to set it. Of course if you open and close frequently you let all the heat up but it comes right back up fairly quickly. I was even able to get some smoking in the winter with no problem once dialing the temperature in.

I was debating to wait and get a 30" because I've seen them cheaper, but this ones portability sold me. I usually smoke on 1 rack anyway

I don't think the MES30 has that much more space. It's a 3rd rack. The negative is the non digital. Just means you probably want to rig a decent electric thermometer. If you have one already no extra costs. But if you don't thats a nother 20-30 so your at the price of the MES30 or getting close to it.

Not sure where it gets "really good reviews"
This would have been great for smoking small meals instead of my 40" MB.
QVC says it will get up to 250*. The reviews say it barely reaches 200* and maybe more if it's in the sun.
Love reading the reviews,
What did they think a smoker does? lol

" When this product was shown on QVC there was no mention of any warnings. When the product arrived at my home, there was a warning with it of possible cancer or death from toxic fumes. I would not have ordered this product has I been aware of this. "

It may be from having to burn off the manufacturing fumes. I had to do that with my masterbuilt If I remember right.

Never owned an electric smoker before but ordered this. Thanks OP. Excited to give it a try. Anyone know what kind of warranty this has?
