YMMV: eBay Sellers - 50% off final value fees on up to 5 items sold for $50 plus 6% eBay bucks

eBay just issued a promo (by invitation only) for 50% off final value fees on the first 5 items listed and sold during the promo period. This is particularly great for those who also received the 6% eBay bucks on sales promo. It's quite rare to have eBay bucks on sales and discounted final value fee promos happen at the same time (I've only ever experienced it once before).

Check if you're eligible via the link below (or check your email inbox for the invite):

https://www.rsvp.ebay.com/rsvp/si...8be497lgBU

Here's the link to check if you qualified for the 6% eBay bucks on sales promo (deadline to list is tonight):

Terms and conditions:

Please note: Invited sellers must activate the Promotion by selecting "Activate offer" from within the invitation email, the Promotion landing page, or from within the Promotional Offers module within My eBay. Items listed prior to a seller activating the Promotion will not be eligible for the discount.

What is the Promotion?

Invited sellers ("Sellers") who activate the offer, and pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein, list in the auction-style, auction-style with the Buy It Now feature added, or fixed price formats (including Good 'Til Cancelled listings), with any listing duration, during the Promotion Period, will receive a 50% discount on final value fees (collectively referred to as "Promotion") for the first 5 items sold for $50 or more.
Please note: Discounted final value fees will be applied to the total amount of the sale including the cost of the item and shipping, excluding sales tax. All existing selling limits on your account (as well as category and item limits) still apply, and may prevent you from creating the maximum number of listings in this Promotion. Listing fees may apply, depending on how many listings you have already created; learn more about seller fees, including number of free listings per month, by viewing our everyday rate plan.

Who's eligible?

This Promotion is available to Sellers who: (i) received an email and/or message in My eBay; (ii) activated the Promotion; and (iii) meet eBay's minimum seller performance standards. Please sign in to My eBay and view your Seller Dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standards.

When is it?

This Promotion will begin on the date specified in the message you received through email or eBay Message Center, at 00:00:01 PT (12:00AM plus one second), and will end on the date specified in the message you received through e-mail or eBay Message Center, at 23:59:59 PT (11:59PM plus 59 seconds), for listings on www.ebay.com (the "Promotion Period").

When is it?

Sellers that have been invited to participate will automatically receive the Promotion after they activate the Promotion from the invitation email or the Promotion landing page, and then create listings on eBay at www.ebay.com through the Sell Your Item form, eBay Seller Tools, eBay Mobile applications, and most third-party tools. Please note that the discount may not be shown during the listing process. Instead, the discount will be reflected in the "Seller Account" section in My eBay, under the Account tab, as well as in your next invoice.

Summary of Restrictions & Exclusions

Please take time to read the full terms for all the details.

This Promotion is only valid for listings on the US site at www.ebay.com or with an eBay Mobile application in the US.

Fees for optional features (such as reserve price, subtitle, Gallery Plus, listing in 2 categories, etc.) and any applicable PayPal fees will still apply. Please note: Not all features are available in all listing flows.

The following categories are excluded: eBay Motors Passenger Vehicles, Motorcycles, Boats, Power Sports, Other Vehicles, Motors Local Market, Real Estate, Classified Ad listings, Heavy Equipment, Concession Trailers & Carts, Imaging & Aesthetics Equipment, and Commercial Printing Presses.

The Promotion excludes listings created prior to activating the offer and listings with a start date prior to, or after the Promotion Period.

All listings must comply with all applicable eBay policies, including eBay's Duplicate Listing policy that allows for the removal of duplicate fixed price listings.
The Promotion does not apply to items sold through eBay Valet.

Guys, I have 3 eBay accounts now, 2 of which I opened recently just so I'd get these promos. My original account only got eBay bucks on purchases and no final value fee promo, my second one got eBay bucks on purchases and sales and 20% off final value fee, and my third got eBay bucks on purchases and sales and 50% off final value fees.

I also got the one from 1-2 months ago on my second account, but not my first (my third was opened a month ago).

Do the items have to sell in the next few days or just be listed before the promo ends? It doesn't seem too clear.

I had an offer in my inbox for $10 for me and $10 for any new members I invite. That's something, I guess?

If you activate it and qualify, the landing page will tell you when it has to sell by. Mine just says list by May 21 with no deadline to sell. However, there is a de facto 30 day deadline because the listing will by default expire after 30 days. Any auto renewal is deemed a new listing.

They stack. Done it before (that time it was 10% eBay bucks and no final value fee on 1 sale). Have never had both promos happen at the same time since then until now.

If you're lucky enough to have gotten both promos, they effectively cancel out the entire eBay final value fee and reduce the PayPal fee to 2% (5% off final value fee + 6% eBay bucks = 11%).

I resist selling on E-bay.. Once you list it your item becomes ebays.. If your buyer has figured out that you can claim "item not as described" he can make that claim and force return a now opened box entirely at your expense, EVEN IF you listed it as no returns..
Buyer can simply find a better deal, change their mind or whatever.. When a buyer hits that button it starts a computer generated script with only one outcome in favor of the buyer.. Type as you may including facts, no one reads them.. it is a scripted dance of seller fools..

I was good to ebay and paid them $50 to $150 per month in seller fees untill they coped the attitude it was their money and product. The sellers T&C SUCK... 20 year seller with 100% satisfaction rate be dammed.. I am out and aperantly they do not care and do want mom and pop sellers any more any way..

This ^. What's worse is that the option even exists to choose a return policy when it means absolutely nothing. When buyers abuse "The Money back Guarantee" it's at the expense of the seller and the majority are going to be casual who may only list a few items per month. These aren't mega retailers who have capital to take a loss from returns.

My experience has been the opposite so far (member since 2009) but I only ever sell occasionally and only when I get promos like this one. So far, I've only had to deal with one return in all the years I've been selling and it was because the buyer who bought the speaker thought it was defective (in his defense, the sound clip he played on Tidal was the culprit — I confirmed this when I played the same clip on two of my own identical speakers and each one reproduced the same static sound he heard; playing other songs did not produce the same issue). I was able to resell it on eBay with no difficulties.

All the buyers I've dealt with who I've actually shipped products to, including the one who returned the one item, have been upstanding. I did encounter a few who tried to pull a fast one, but I've so far been able to put the brakes on the deal prior to shipping. Knock on wood, hopefully it stays that way. Also, there really isn't any other option for selling high value items, although Reverb is slowly but surely becoming a viable option.
