during the last battery sale, the wait at my local Sam's Club was 4 hours... I gave up and took the battery took the battery home and installed it myself. Brought the old battery back the next day to get the $27 core charge back. Smilie

They are good batteries. Smilie

My wife has a 2012 Highlander with original battery. I keep the terminals clean and it hasn't given me any issues so far. Would it be a waste of $$ right now to get in on this and get her a new battery?

After 6 years you are probably near the end of life for that battery anyways. I'd do the swap now; I've never seen them on sale like this and Sams is one of the cheaper places to begin with for batteries.

I'll be honest with you. These batteries are not great quality. My wife had gone through 2 in a short amount of time. Year or so. I don't think they sell many of them and they sit there for a while. The worker admitted they get a few returns but maybe that's just my location.

They have a date sticker right on the top, find the newest one in the row. As far as quality, they are as good as any other aftermarket & the warranty replacement is absolutely painless. I've never had any (bought at least 10 in the last 7 years) go bad in less than 3 years.

The numerous issues that can take place inside any cars electrical system are no reflection on the battery. I wouldn't blame the battery if you've had 2 fail - not to mention you were replacing a bad battery when you bought your first Duracell - just an opinion.

I personally own one of these batteries. I will say, there were no questions asked on getting my battery covered under warranty. I installed the battery in a car with a short. So, it was constantly draining and often dead, totally NOT the battery's fault.

Yup. Exactly what I did. The Interstate is a lot better battery than these at Sams, which in my opinion are the worst auto batteries possibly ever made and ones I have ever seen.. For folks that think this battery is good, install them and leave the headlights on and see how long they are lit up. Do the same with the the Interstate ones and you see the difference between night and day literally.

And when I got really desperate to replace these, I did a little research and found Costco actually sells the Interstate ones for 30-40 bucks lower than most other places. So it was a no -brainer replacing these with the Interstate ones at Costco.

Probably should, better than being stranded somewhere.

DW's ~ 3 yo Pilot had a battery fail.... on the farking coldest day in recorded history, 20 miles from home.

So yeah, preventative maintenance is worth $$.

Wish Costco would put their Interstate's on sale, but don't think I've ever seen a battery sale from Costco before.

The Costco ones seem to be the same as their mid line white battery with black top. The ones from Costco are all black though to differentiate probably. But the CCA are the same.

One of my friends owns a AAA roadside assistance/towing and he swears by interstate. So do most shops in my area, including the ones that do work on my F350s and buses.

Btw, never run your battery down by using your headlights. Lead acid batteries have huge memory effects when you do this. Two deep cycles on diesel trucks will usually keep them from working again during winter time.

I concede the over all point there but in the conversations I had with the workers they gave me the impression they wouldn't buy them. That's all I was relaying.
