What do you guys think is the best free credit card to sign up for with price protection? Is it generally worth getting one of these cards for this benefit?

my default card is citi double cash. price rewind is useful, but it isn't as compelling as the additional 2 years of warranty or the 2% cash back on everything.

edit: actually, i've used price rewind several times and haven't made an additional warranty claim, so it's probably more useful in the end.

For price protection? Discover. Yeah, yeah, the benefits have dimished over the years, but the price protection policy, when qualifiable, was always an easy process to submit and get a quick approval with a check sent to me right away!

Yes. But Discover still has Price Protection for up to $500 per year, but also still have decent 5% rotation cash back periods.

Is it $500 a year or $500 per claim?

I'll have to re-read it, but I understand that it's a total of $500 in price differences for qualifying price matches.

I was going to open a discover for the price protection, since chase just closed one of my cards for inactivity (use blue cash for almost everything) but I saw discover is stopping the price protection, and I don't think anyone else offers that.

Is Price Protection still available to Discover cardmembers?

Price Protection will no longer be offered as of October 31, 2018. Purchases made prior to October 31, 2018 will be eligible for coverage under the original terms of the benefit.

Citi Card Double Cash back is good. I've used it for a lot of stuff and use it for my everyday purchasing. I don't carry a balance so I get 1% when I buy and 1% when I pay.
