Precision is pretty much all the same for all quartz watches (~15 sec/month). Most (cheapish, think $100-$1000) more expensive watches with mechanical movements are actually worse in precision.

What you pay for at this price point will be the brand and minor features. Tissot is a legitimate watch brand as opposed to fashion brands like Calvin Klein, Fossil, Guess, etc.

These particular watch also features a sapphire crystal which is nice. Sapphire is much more scratch resistant than mineral. I think Sapphire crystal is a must have for all non-beater watches.

Fit and finish on this watch may be better than what you would get with cheaper watches. The stainless steel is probably better finished, less sharp edges, the numbers on the dial should be all straight. The second hand should tick precisely onto the numbers. Though that's probably still more luck of the draw. I've had $300 watches that I returned for non-perfect alignment.

Honestly, a watch is purely a fashion statement. You should just buy a watch that you absolutely love the looks of. The features are all secondary. I find that most people don't give a crap about what watch other people are wearing unless it's stupidly gaudy. Buy a watch that you like, nothing else really matters.

Though I have to add that I absolutely love my Citizen AT4010 [amazon.com]. The titanium, perpetual calendar, atomic time keeping are actually features that make my life just a teeny weeny easier. I am unreasonably annoyed when I have to adjust the date of the watch (30day vs 31 day months etc), so the perpetual calendar feature is awesome. I also like not having to adjust for daylight savings.

Ok...I'm not a watch guy so much. What's the difference with a watch at this level than, say, one that's $50? Precision?

For a quartz watch like this I think it's mainly the materials used, and build quality. This watch has sapphire, which is usually a premium over mineral glass display.

Nowadays even a $10 quartz watch could keep the time pretty precisely. IMO the difference between a tissot at this price point and a much cheaper watch might be: 1. the brand name (it is a swiss brand); 2. better finish of the appearance. 3. a swiss quartz movement (might have nothing to do with precision, but some people do care about that)

About $90.

Honestly, if you are not interested in watches, no amount of explaining would ever make you appreciate more expensive watches. Buy what appeals to you and don't listen to other peoples reasons.

Just bought a watch that was in stock at Jomashop. It's been over a week and it still hasn't shipped. Emailed customer service a couple days ago and never got a response. Wouldn't recommend.

I have ordered 2 watches from jomadhop. No problem. One of the watch battery was dead. Contacted support and they responded quickly with 15$ refund. Good website

Not much if anything. Almost all of them use the same materials. The main thing to really watch out for is false dials. Almost all under $50 cheap watches will have dials that are just for show but don't actually do anything.

That being said I stopped by quartz movement watches after my 3rd watch. I just hate changing out the batteries and it can completely destroy a watches waterproofing if not done correctly.

Personally, the only thing these have going for them over a basic Timex Weekender ($20-30 on Amazon) is the sapphire face and date function, and for me, neither of those things is worth the $100+ premium just so it says Tissot on it. For a Tissot watch, it is definitely one of the least expensive you'll find, so it's not a bad deal. Just not for me for such a plain one.
