Bought one when it went on sale at Costco for the same price earlier this month. Using it for spreadsheet, word processing, photo editing, etc. No gaming. Very very happy with it.

The only online vendor has it cheap is B&H. But it's $220. Not sure if they will price match.

it is a good monitor, but not worth $200.
The 16:10 aspect ratio with thin bezels and the factory color calibration make it worth $200 to many people.

I just moved from the U2415 to the S2716DGR, and I miss the color calibration of the U2415. I'm going to have to squeeze them in side by side to attempt matching color. It's as close to perfect as can be.

I've owed 2 of these for a long time, and my previous were UltraSharp monitors. Great monitors with great accuracy.

People always toute the factory calibration, yet they have no idea what it means in context of actual use.

The factory calibration gets to de 5..

That's not acceptable for any kind of "Wurk" in coloring/printing.

In color work you need delta-e below 1.... to match workflows

So,

it's Not-good-enough for the people that need color accuracy,

and

it plain doesn't matter to people who Don't need color accuracy..

<out of the box performance> monitors drift alot within the first few hundred hours of use, so, the dE of 5 quickly goes up..

In the end it's better than nothing, but it's kind of a gimmick.

This needs to be clarified, these monitors have great accuracy AFTER calibration.

The factory calibration is not accurate..

Better than nothing, but the way it's actually done and sold, it's mostly a gimmick nod

That degree of accuracy may matter to someone actually working in industry who isn't paying for their own equipment anyways but I know several successful freelance photographers who do family, wedding, baby etc photos who don't even understand technology enough to know what every port on the back of the monitor is let alone how to calibrate it to perfection. That's why I still recommend this monitor line when people ask me.
