If you're solely looking at price, this is a good deal. Hampton Bay is ok quality. However, having replaced a couple with Hunter, the difference in quality between the two brands is significant. Hunter fans are pretty much silent, durable, and very well built.

If you're installing a fan in your bedroom, for instance, I'd go with Hunter without question. For other rooms where silence isn't as important, Hampton Bay would be fine.

9.5W is roughly equivalent to 60W incandescent.

Edit: also- the fixture holds 2 bulbs.

One bulb only 9.5 watts. Come on. This would provide almost no light. I suppose you could put a brighter light bulb in but only one.

There are two of them and 9.5watts LED bulb is the equivalent to a 60W incandescent

Holds 2x Candelabra bulbs. I bought these [amazon.com] and put 2x regular size LED bulbs in instead. Works fine, just have to put the bowl a little lower.

Can someone fill me in as to why this is a good deal? Genuine question as I too am in the market for a couple of ceiling fans. It seems like a relatively low percentage off of the original price.

2 candelabra bulbs is crap. Blame the EPA for this. Before LEDs they went from Edison A19 to candelabra, so we can save electricity and live in the dark. Now we have LEDs and they further screw us over with fewer candelabra sockets. I say BS. Find a fan with 3 A19 sockets and load them with corn LED bulbs. .don't support this crap.

Not what Home Depot says. Perhaps there is a similar fan that has two Candelabra. Here is what Home Depot says:

Light Bulb Base Code E26
Bulb wattage (watts) 9.5
Number of Lights 1 Light
That is a standard bulb not candelabra. Also Candelabra bulbs do not use 9.5 watts. There is one light not two.

Also these may work or may not. Often the bulb will not fit with these. There is not enough room for it.

I bought a similar fan that had three candelabra bulbs. The regular bulbs would not fit. I managed to force one in anyway but it was impossible to fit three. I could not screw in the glass completely and it is tilted where the regular bulb is. It is still not that bright. A whole less bright than the previous fan I replaced.

Really. Not what Home Depot says.

Number of Lights
1 Light

How is one light two?

Why do you say there are two when it says there is only one. I agree two would be enough especially since you could replace the 60 watt with 100 watt bulbs. One is not enough. One is what Home Depot says it has.
According to Amazon:

". Features a custom-designed frosted glass bowl light kit with two 60-watt candelabra bulbs (included). Indoor use, large rooms."

https://www.amazon.com/Hampton-Ba...6699722237

HD may consider the fixture as 1 light.
