Just got this in the mail from Dell yesterday. Even thou they said ship date is June 18 when I ordered, I still got it as fast as the first unbox video on youtube.
After all the GC and rebate stuff, i got this config except with the Gtx 1060 max Q, 3 year premium support for the $930 after tax and everything.
Have not play game on it yet, but it does have a rear exhaust but it is blocked by the hinge of the screen. Build quality is not as bad as the reviewer complain, very acceptable and looks nice for the price. Thin and light for a gaming laptop. You'll definitely need a laptop cooler as for all the gaming laptop ever unless you wanna kill the video card. Ofc with Dell Premium Support they'll just replace the GPU within the warranty period. But you don't want your GPU to die right after the support ended.
*Edit: sry the price i got was for the G3 so it is cheaper. However if you do the same procedure you should get the same price as mine with this config

It is quite portable for that purpose. It's not gonna be anything like Macbook Air, Surface or XPS 13, but it is around the size and weight of a Macbook Pro. Yes so in the world of gaming laptop it is on the portable size. Of course the build quality of Macbook Pro and the likes is much better, but this one is not as bad as some reviewer slam it. However, if you do anything that use the Graphic card at all, it is wise to purchase a very good aluminium laptop cooler so that you don't overheat that GPU.

What rebate stuff? Yes the G3 looks pretty sweet just saw a new one on Ebay for $899.99 brand new with these same specs. I'd feel safer purchasing from Dell directly or a reputable retailer though. I'm going to wait it out till the G7 8700h + 16gb ram + gtx 1060 drops to $900 though.

Only the highest end G3 has thunderbolt if that is important to you. There will be more deals to come.

Yea that's also a deal breaker. Thunderbolt 3 rapidly growing so it will be a must in the long-run or when I decide I want to add an external GPU as well.
