What is wrong with this? Which gen is good? Thanks in advance. I don't know much about NVMe/M.2.

From what I've read, 1st gen is quite a bit slower than the 2nd gen WD.

1st gen is still quite a bit faster than SATA SSDs, but WD improved the performance SIGNIFICANTLY for the 2nd gen (such that it is near rivals to the Samsung 960 PRO NVMEs.

The new gen of WD NVMEs have a BLACK PCB and come in 250/500/1TB whereasa the first gen comes in 256GB/512GB.

See here: https://www.anandtech.com/show/12...d-review/3 Orange bar is the 2nd gen, blue bar is the 1st gen and you can see a huge discrepancy between them. For most people you won't really notice the difference though.
