A $30 drop is probably the best we'll see for a long time.

Well the best buy model should have been less expensive to begin with. $969 should be the MSRP

Also true. Not sure why the 615 and 617 were both listed at $1K.

Per a CNET article:

Update 5/1, 1:34 PM ET: TCL originally told CNET that the 65-inch Best Buy version would also be $50 cheaper ($950) but bestbuy.com currently has it at $1,000. When asked for an explanation, TCL's representative replied: "Best Buy sets their own retail prices. However, we expect them to adjust in late May to...$969."

I don't understand? It's a no name brand 65 inch HDR Tv for more than 900. There are name brand ones for less than 900? How is this a good deal? is this a rebadged Samsung or something?
check out the wiki in other thread for reviews. Most rated it best budget TV for HDR. Just a gamble with panel lottery, stock and shipping issues. A few of us a thrilled with it. https://slickdeals.net/f/11524971-tcl-6-series-available-for-sale-on-amazon-650-1-000 CNET stated that the TCL R617 even has comparable picture quality to the X900F, which is said to be a bit better than the X900E.

Tomorrow is my 15 day return, I many nag them for a price adjustment. I really don't plan on returning mine, but I might bluff them.

Agreed. I wouldn't pay $500 for a TCL, let alone double that.
They all have to start out somewhere. Just remember that 10 years ago Vizio was in this position and Samsung 10 years before that.

I like how TLC thinks it can charge premium prices and hang with the big boys now. They don't seem to release what made them great 1-2 years ago was their budget pricing. No one is buying TLC to have TLC. People bought them because they were decent TVs with affordable prices.
Please provide me a comparable name brand TV spec for spec for the same price and I will buy that right away.
