That's what Canon Rumors posted, however, the current version (which I have) is sharp wide open so most are wondering what could it possibly be that they're doing to version II?

Not that sharp.. improves if you stop down a bit.. maybe version 2 can fix that.

This should be bought Canon refurb for $800 and change. No point buying at this price.. might as well wait for new model or step up to the f/2.8

i know i will get a lot of dislikes, but personally, i think Canon users are still living in 2016. they are Refuse to believe that mirrorless is much better, plus it has 4K, unlike 6D, lol.
Just like people still believe that the earth is not round.
Wake up,
MC-11 Adapter is the one you need buy next.
I'm living with a grouping of lenses that have many years of use left. Don't have a need for an adapter because I'm in no rush of leaving this platform. There is nothing to wake up to. Photography is different than other tech hobbies. I know people that still use..............................wait for it....................... film. Trust me, their work is woke.

For most people they don't need the benefits to justify the process of converting their whole system. Theres still amateurs taking great pics on t3i's. Wedding photographers and portrait photographers would have to adapt receivers and flashes as well. I think the a7III is starting to convince people to convert, but it'll still take a lot more for most people.

For the basic consumer, there's nothing in the lower price range that can touch the quality the current canon/nikon can put out.

I am still sometimes amazed about the pics I took back in the days with the Canon original digital rebel and then the xt.

Mirrors or not doesn't replace the person taking the pictures...

As for this deal, for the money I would rather spend it on the Tamron f2.8 version. Patiently awaiting the student discount to come back.

Not really worth it at $1100 for a f4.0. You can get the 70-200mm f2.8 as low as $1250 and version 2 for $1500 new. The f4.0 is really an old lens and does not offer IS. I would recommend a Tamron or Sigma f2.8 at this price point

This is a newer 70-200 F4L IS. I used to have a 70-200/2.8L IS but sold it and got this 70-200/4L IS instead. I shoot mostly outdoor and F/4 doesn't bother me at all. And the F4L is half the weight of the 2.8L.
