Did you end up replacing it with a better model? If so, what did you get?

I thought Winix was one of the better brands out there.

Costco version comes with an extra year of filters (so 2 HEPA + 8 carbon total) and looks like they can be had for $110 with the current 25% off Google express thing. I picked a couple up a few months ago and they are great.

I bought the 5500 3 years ago and it's great. I only use it for my room, though. It's funny that people latch onto 1 random post on slickdeals and determine the product is terrible.

It is an air filter, not a fan. It is not supposed to ''move" air. Get a Vornado for that.

I bought the c535 from Costco. Used it for two weeks already. Can't tell if it working properly. Am i suppose to open it up and see if the filters collected anything? If i leave it on auto mode it doesn't do anything. The color rarely changes from blue to orange to detect dust.

C535 since it comes with a remote and extra filters for less and to me looks a lot nicer. I had a bunch of money on Amazon so I went with the 5500

After a month i took the cover off mine and in our family room the pre-filter has a ton of dust on it. Ours does change color here and there every day especially if we are around, so I think it is doing something... but I guess I can't prove it!
