For my fellow citizens who have served in our militaries, may I suggest that you consider whether you truly need any of these fairly expensive systems. While they are doubtlessly good deals for their price and specifications, it must be said that very few people will actually need such combinations of light weight and gaming performance. Or, rather, it's that you should understand that you are paying a hefty premium for that combination. The result is a very capable CPU, a very capable GPU, but neither is top tier - and yet you are paying top tier total amounts of money.

There are gaming laptops that are much more powerful for much less, though they may weigh more and be unable to detach; there are gaming desktops that are just as capable as these surface 2 deals, but cost about 1/3rd (~$700).

My own personal recommendation to my army buddies is to get a quality non "gaming" laptop and then buy/build a quality gaming desktop. For $2200, you can easily get both. As for laptops, I personally strongly favor the dell precision line, or the latitude line.

Of an Enlisted what?

Pay for Enlisted service members ranges from ~$1,500 to ~$8,000 a month, before housing and other allowances.

How many E-9s with 38+ years of service have you met?
quite a lot of AAFES deals are way beyond what an average enlisted can reasonably afford...I can't wait for AAFES to have a 10% off Tesla model X deal...

None, but I have met multiple CMSAF, and they make ~$8,300.
