Not an awful deal for the homeowner. The drill is not brushless and it is the older battery packs and the older charger. But still it's a good find if you don't need top of the line Ryobi cordless tools ☺️

Ugh. I bought this barely 2 weeks ago for $150. It's a good deal but the tools included are older versions. They still work great, but the current (brushed) tools are a little better. The newer drill is shorter and more compact, the newer Reciprocating Saw has better safety trigger placement and the newer circular saw has slightly better build quality. Even the newer Flashlight is brighter. Personally I would have skipped this set and gone for the 6-tool Ryobi days promotion for $200. The tools are all current in that and it also includes a multitool and impact driver. The batteries are also better in the 6-tool kit - 1.5AH Lithium+ with charge indicator vs the 1.3AH Lithium batteries without charge indicator in the kit listed here. The Lithium+ batteries use better chemistry that provides more power to the tools.

Not via Google Express. That's home Depot only.

I also brought this set for a friend. If you just need a decent all around tool set, this is the best you can get. Yes, other sets will be slightly better but they also cost way more for little gain. The batteries are similar, only nice things with the newer ones is the battery indicators.

Remember is this mainly for light use. But if you can grab the promo batteries to go along with this, it will make a killer basic set.

The 6 tool kit is current, but still not brushless.

Agreed. My personal preference would have been the 6-tool if I'd known it was coming up, but I kept this kit since I'd already started using it and it's perfectly adequate.

According to Ryobi it's not just the charge indicator. The back of the new Lithium+HP battery box has a chart showing increasing power and runtime as you go from Lithium to Lithium+ to Lithium+HP.

Brushless is a different price league altogether.

But Google Express is using Home Depot? Or do you mean that the promotion is instore only and Google Express does not do instore pickup?

If you've never bought tools before, I'd pass on this and wait for a combo with impact driver. It will be your favorite tool
