Says there is a newer version that is $39.99

Anyone have reputable reviews on either?

"Newer version" is not noise cancelling.

The "you get what you paid for" logics still apply.

Although you do get what you pay for in most cases, I have a pair of taotronics active noise canceling wired earbuds which are basically a copy of the $300 bose set of similar style and these taotronics are amazing for the $30 I paid for them. I would say that have to be at least 70% as good as the bose for a small fraction of the price. I'm assuming the experience with other taotronics active noise cancelling products are the same

I bought these last January. Although mine was defective and made a hissing noise constantly, it was the most comfortable headphone I used next to QC35.

I returned the unit and tried to get a replacement but the seller changed the price and denied the re-purchase.

Then shortly after sales of these items were blocked by Amazon to investigate high return/defect rate.

I'm gonna give it a second go at it since this headphone is not worth at or above $40 but only one that nearly matches the long term comfort of QC series.

Maybe I'll have a better luck this time and get a non defective unit.

agreed. I don't have these (I actually have the Sony MDR1000X's), but the law of USEFULNESS also applies here. For $30, a pair of beater headphones for the gym would work just fine, it just depends on the user preferences and needs.

Applying any type of blanket statement across value always confuses me... everyone on SD always has their opinion and thinks their opinion is gospel. Confused

I own like 20 pairs of earbuds and headphones ranging from studio to beaters. My favorite pair of Bluetooth earbuds are my $7 QCY QY8's. Granted they were on sale, but still. It's like being convinced that cheese pizza is the best pizza; fact. It's all opinion in the end.

I've bought these last January and they've been I'm satisfied with them. Worked well as earmuffs during the cold Winter/Spring and although the audio/noise cancelling isn't comparable with other high end headphones, they're well worth the sale price.

Btw, judging from the promo code, it clearly shows that it came from the k-i-n-j-a deals website.
